Sturdy and easy to drive with all-terrain tires that will travel over nearly anything, your off-road vehicle allows you to wind through thick vegetation and rugged terrain. Ride for about two hours before jumping off at Kahili Falls, where you have 45 minutes to swim, explore on foot and hang out. Splash through the mud and continue off-roading along scenic Kauai trails before returning to the tour center.

Mud Bug: The 2-person Mud Bug is perfect for those who just can't bear to be apart (a popular option with newlyweds on honeymoon). The Mud Bug is a fully automatic off-road vehicle with a 3-point harness system, roll bars and a Baja-tested suspension system.

Ohana Bug: Take the family on a real adventure in an Ohana Bug, a bigger version of the Mud Bug that holds up to four people. Be prepared to get dirty, and if the conditions are right, very muddy.

The Makauwahi Cave Reserve is a rare limestone cave and sinkhole system. Tour the cave and surrounding area and learn about the ancient island ecology. Begin 10,000 years ago, and work your way forward. This 4-hour private tour allows you to see deeper into this magical place.

Start the day with a pickup from your Poipu Beach area hotel in the morning or afternoon, depending on the day chosen. A professional archaeologist will collect passengers in a comfortable "Tortoise" Ford Transit van, and start with a visually presented background of the south shore of Kauai.

Travel through the old sugar cane fields, to the area of the Makauwahi Cave Reserve. First, tour the cave itself, then have a well earned provided snack. Next, hike to an amazing lookout and see a wide range of native plants and other ecological wonders. The trek will then visit the "weeders", or our tortoises, and hopefully see several endangered animals in the reserve Taro Fields before being returned to your accommodations.
