Come experience Kauai's most spectacular coast! This all day adventure allows guests to hike the rugged, historic Kalalau Trail into the interior Hanakapiai Valley with its majestic 300-foot waterfall.

Prepare for a visual feast of soaring, jungly-green pinnacles rising from black lava cliffs, all backdropped by sapphire, teal or turquoise seas, depending on the mood of the Pacific. This is Na Pali, the crowning coast of Kauai.

Cliffs composed of thousands of ancient lava flows rise up over 2,500 feet and extend along 13 miles of some of the most rugged coastline in the world. As your knowledgeable guide leads you safely along the historic Kalalau Trail, you will learn about Na Pali's geologic origin, the stories of Kauai's native plants and animals, and of its cultural past.

Coastal valleys, such as Hanakapiai, were settled by some of the island's early human occupants over 700 years ago. As you hike up the valley to its 300-ft waterfall, you will pass archaeological remains of their settlements. Prepare yourself for a paradise of discovery - visual treats, geological catastrophe, botanical struggles, and human exploitation.

For this adventure, our van leaves from Poipu at 8am and returns by 6pm. This in-and-out hike ranges from a 4-mile beach hike option to Hanakapiai Beach or an 8-mile hike to the Hanakapiai Waterfall. The weather and trail conditions are highly variable. We include a fresh deli-style lunch, snacks, bottled water and other beverages.

• Lunch - Our lunches are first rate. We have sandwiches catered at the DALI Deli in Old Koloa Town. They use only fresh ingredients. If you have any dietary requirements or are a vegetarian, we will do our best to suit your needs.

• Drinks - Bottled water, Tropical Fruit Drinks, Sodas.

• Snacks - Granola Bars, Fruit, Cookies, Chips.

This tour must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for NO SHOWS. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%. Some specific tours and activities have a higher cancellation fee due to the limited space available.

Recommended for all Nature Tours in Kauai: If you have a favorite day pack, bring it! Please don't forget SUNSCREEN. Depending on which hike you choose, a swim suit is a good idea, but not necessary. Don't forget your hat, sunglasses, and camera. Running shoes are acceptable, so are sport-sandals, but hiking boots are the best (the more ankle support the better!). We provide backpacks and raingear, but bring your own if you would like.
